Knitting really is the new yoga. A recent article in Yoga Journal, an online magazine describes how practitioners of yoga are learning to practice meditation and concentration techniques to their time spent doing needlework.

Where Shells happily wraps it up!
The final scarf is done. Knitpicks wool of the andes in a 3×3 rib pattern. Wool was held double throughout and knit on US10.5 needles. A quick knit, which is why I saved it for last.

One of my absolutely favorite historic textile books is The Workwoman’s Guide, published by Old Sturbridge Village as a replica of the 1838 original. I’ve made shawls, a twisted fringe, and muffatees from patterns in this resource, but they do require heaps of “translation”, from the archaic terminology to the new that we can understand.

I used Arc Soft Photo Studio, but probably many other photo software programs do the like thing.
Upload photo.
Select effects from overhead toolbar. I used liquid, splash, intensity 20%. Make it blurry so you can guess what colors of yarn to use.
Back to the effects tab. Select tiling, 3D grid from dropdown menu.
