basil

lisa has started i dunno how many of these & they look awesome! well since my friend charlie just had a daughter, i decided to make one. it’s the best tv knitting for me at this point. i’m beating whatever was going around as a result of all this up/down weather in philly. i would’ve cast on sooner but i didn’t know what color to go with. he said they wanted a “nice” color first, but when they found out it was a girl, they said they love pink. this worked out because my idea of nice color might’ve blinded them a bit.

it’s a smith island pattern factory piece and it rocks. i’m trying to avoid the projects that i’ve abandoned and are now lying around with no sleeves, collar, edging, etc. there seems to be an abundance of missing sleeves, though. i think i want to do the body & fronts of sweaters and when i get to the sleeves i just want to wear it. it occured to me before to knit them first, but do i listen to myself? heck no.
i’ve also started ene again with one of the two skeins of lorna’s laces helen’s lace i have in the aslan colorway. i’m taking my time at it. i’ll put up progress pics when i do my finished talia post. no rushes, no fudges. that’s my new motto.
